An unforgettable 8-days cross country ski tour on groomed tracks and with luggage transport in mountains of Khibiny Tundra on Kola Peninsula. Kola Travel is the cross-country ski-tour specialist on the Kola Peninsula in Russian Lapland. After an introduction your ski-tour starts on the shore of the Imandra Lake, with beautiful views on Khibiny Tundra, the highest Tundra of Lapland. During the ski-tour you cross a Nature Reserve for Elks, you ski through the Kukisvumchor Pass (500m) and the exiting Ramzai Pass (743m) and you have possibility to visit “Snow village”.
The total length of the tour is about 140 km with daily ski distances between 20 and 40 km. Overnights during the ski-tour are in a house of local people, a small mountain hotel and a SPA-hotel. Your luggage is transported by a snowmobile with sledge which also groom the cross-country ski tracks where you ski on. Experience in cross-country skiing is necessary. The tour program is available both for individuals and groups.

Day 1: Arrival in Murmansk airport. Transfer to a hotel in Monchegorsk (140 km). Check-in, dinner on your own in a Russian café and overnight in the hotel. (-,-,-)
Day 2: Breakfast at the hotel. You can train yourself and try-out our equipment in the surroundings of Monchegorsk.
Overnight in the hotel. (B,L,-)

Day 3: Breakfast. Today we will meet our snowmobile guide whom takes care for luggage transport and prepare the cross country ski tracks.
We start our ski-tour with crossing Imandra Lake towards Khibiny Tundra to a small village named Imandra Station. Lunch at a campfire in wilderness.
Sauna, diner and overnight in a country house in more person room. Not necesarry lugguage during the tour you can leave in the hotel. (B,L,D)
Distance of skiing: 25 km.
Day 4: Breakfast. We continue beside the foot of the mountains and change the lake area for a beautiful forest landscape.
After a campfire lunch we will come in a valley which leads us to the centre of Khibiny Tundra.
Sauna, dinner and overnight in a small wilderness hotel surrounded by mountains. (B,L,D)
Distance of skiing: 32 km.
Day 5: Breakfast at the hotel. First we ski to eastwards to have a beautiful view on the forest valley and
then we ski through the valley and over the Kukisvumchorr Pass (500m) to Kirovsk. Campfire lunch during tour.
Dinner and overnight in Sanatorium Health Centre in twin room with shower and toilet.
Possibility to visit Snow-village, a huge labyrinth made under the snow with beautiful wall carvings and with ice sculptures made by artists
from all over the Arctic region; Russia, Finland, Sweden and Norway.
The evening can be spent with the additional services of the SPA-Centre, sauna, swimming pool, massage and other healthy and

Day 6: Breakfast. We continue our way westwards. Today it will be the summit of the ski-tour! We ski through valleys
to the famous Ramzai Pass (743m), a cleft with high steep walls. We will ski in the desolate white world of snow plateaus
surrounded by the highest mountains of Khibiny Tundra. Campfire lunch.
Later we ski over the lake with lots of islands on the foot of the mountains to a road direction.
A bus waits for us there. Transfer to Monchegorsk and check-in at the hotel. In the evening farewell dinner.

Day 7: Breakfast. At 10:00 transfer to Murmansk. Check-in at hotel "Azimut" in the city centre. The rest of the day you can spend for sight-seeing Murmansk city. Lunch and dinner on your own. Overnight at the hotel. (B,-,-)
Day 8: Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to Murmansk airport for the flight homewards. (B,-,-)

Ski Marathon is usually held on a first Sunday in April in Murmansk and is part of the traditional Festival of the North (Prazdnik Severa). Two distances: 25 and 50 km. Euro Loppet.
