This husky safari is for dog lovers who want to get familiar with the real mushing; feeding, harnessing, sledding and hugging the lovely husky dogs. Travel approx. 40 km per day with a sled pulled by enthousiastic husky dogs on the tundras of Kola Peninsula. Together with a partner, who is in the sled, you travel through the endless nature in one of the last wilderness areas in Europe. From time to time you change from passenger to musher.
During this husky safari, the teams take care of the husky dogs themselves and help with the daily routines. You stay the first and the last overnights in a beautiful blockhouse with all amenities. While you are in the wilderness, you spend the night in a log cabin. A hot sauna and a delicious Dinner are waiting for you there.
The nights on the Kola Peninsula are long and you have a very good chance to see the Northern Lights dancing in the sky.

Day 1: Transfer from Murmansk to Siberian Husky Park. It is located in Lovozero area – place of living Saami people on Kola Peninsula. Check-in at a Guest House. Dinner followed by briefing on trip itinerary and detailed route plan overview on map. Overnight. (D)
Day 2: After breakfast, you can help your guides to harness the dogs: 9-10 dogs for each sled. You will meet the dogs of your team and study their names. You will learn how to rule the sled, commands and signs used during moving. Then you will start Husky riding via the winter landscapes. Your way is going on forest roads, on icy lakes, over mountains and via frozen tundra. The way takes 4-5 hours. You can do some short stops on the way for making photos, light Lunch and hot tea. Your goal is a wilderness lodge in a middle of Lovozero tundra. Check-in at the Lodge. You also should take care about your dogs: to give them food, water and a place for sleeping. It is also nice to tell them some good words. Sauna, dinner and overnight in the Lodge. Distance: 40 km. (BLD)
Day 3: After breakfast, you harness your dogs. Your way is going back to the Husky Park. You will sledge around Lovozero mountain tundra and reach the Park in the late afternoon. After checking-in at the Guest House, you have a free time to look around at the Husky Park. The Husky Park has also a replica of a Saami village, where you get acquainted with the way of life of the Saami people, as it was more than a century ago and meet reindeers. Day 4: After breakfast, you go to the dogs’ kennel to say “Goodbye” to your fluffy friends. Then transfer back to Murmansk city. (BLD)
Remark: On day 2 and 3 two guides on snowmobiles will secure your trip, but they will drive enough far from you not to disturb your ride.
