This 12 days 4x4 Arctic Off-road Expedition is something that other off-roaders only dream about... spending every night in a tent in the woods. Totally self-sufficient. With this off-road expedition you really leave the known world and you enter "The Lost World". A forgotten world, where nobody comes. An incredibly beautiful nature, rich fish waters, endless of-roading trails. During this off-road expedition you end up in various landscapes, lunar landscapes, endless white tundra's, not covered by snow but with the reindeer moss, which doesn't melt in the midnight sun, vast forests, lost villages, mountains and valleys, swamp and lake areas, wild rivers and so on. The guide will take you to mysterious places like "Kuiva the Giant"; a gigantic figure impressed on a rock and considered sacred by the Saami, to the macabre cities of the industrial era of the Soviet Union to do some shopping on the go, to the remains of the Cold War, to the remains of Stalin era penal camps (gulag) and much more.
In short, everything that "Real Russian Lapland" has to offer. The route is ongoing and there are virtually no escape options. This requires a lot for the drivers and their cars. Your ability to improvise and to continue will be put to the test. The car must be able to drive over large boulders, to wade through deep rivers and to winch through endless swamps. No time to think about the daily worries of home and work. You are in "The Lost World" and not accessible to anyone.
This off-road expedition forms the base for two other variants. If you have little time and want to experience this, then this off-road expedition is the best option. The two other variants are extended with parts of the White Sea trails. So if you have more time, you can choose for those.
This off-road expedition is based on wild camping, self-catering and only possible in September; we need the lowest water levels in rivers and lakes.
From late August an "Indian Summer" is here with flaming golden autumn starts which incredible intense colours.
Also it is mostly certain to see the northern lights dancing in the sky.

The meeting point is Kirovsk city. From there we drive eastwards over beaten forest roads to Lovozero Tundra. We come across the remains of prison camps (GULAG), roads and railways to which people had to work until death. We drive up to the summit of Lovozero Tundra (1200 meter) and it feels like driving on the moon. On muddy forest tracks where broken bridges we continue to Khibiny Tundra; a unique nature paradise with breathtaking panorama's. After mud, rivers and overflowing bogs we crawl up to the top of a pass and we have to pass "the Rock" that tries to push you into a deep abyss full of water. Only 4x4 cars and light 4x4 trucks can pass this rock. Leaving the area with crystal clear lakes with exotic beaches we drive into the "The Lost World", where only surprises are waiting for you. The guide will change his off-road car for the 4x4 army truck to guarantee a successful and safe end of this off-road expedition. We are passing by Monche Tundra, known from the "Lapland Reserve" with a rich flora and fauna. We continue to the civilisation of Verchnetulomsky town. The off-road expedition ends up in Worlds biggest city above the Arctic Circle: Murmansk. From there you can continue in all directions, to Finland, Norway or Saint Petersburg.
